Wendy (Wendela) Whitecomb

Author

Wendy Whitecomb was born and raised in California. She married David Marsh and had 3 children. David and 2 of their children were late-diagnosed with autism, and their middle daughter is physically disabled, so they were a family who knew how to make accommodations so that everyone got what they needed. Wendy was a special education teacher for 20 years, and then a school psychologist, autism specialist, and behavior analyst. She earned a master's degree in educational psychology and a doctorate in Religious Studies in Pastoral Counseling with a specialization in Autism. Sadly, David had a heart attack and died at age 54. Wendy was fortunate that all 3 children lived with her, and they were a close-knit family. By 2016 she was ready for a change, so she took early retirement and moved with her family to Salem not far from her two sisters in Wilsonville, Oregon. She started writing books about autism, and is now an award-winning author of 8 traditionally published books. They include a 4-book series called Adulting With Autism. She also started consulting about autism, and is now the founder-CEO of a national group private practice, Adult Autism Assessment & Services (AdultAutismAssessment.com). In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and reading cozy mysteries.
