E67 Retiring in Gozo, Malta

E67 Retiring in Gozo, Malta

Brits frequently complain about gloomy weather, but how many of them leave the country because of it? Fiona Mackenzie-Spence did. I was spiritually guided to Gozo, Malta, says Fiona, a place she had never been. Gozo is a beautiful Mediterranean island where nearly all of the natives speak English. Listen to our conversation with Fiona, about moving to Gozo, on Episode 67 of Retire There with Gil & Gene.

Fiona Mackenzie-Spence’s book on relocating to, and living in, Gozo, Malta is Rock Hopping Tales of a Single Granny: Moving to Malta

Check out some of Fiona’s photographic art here.

Fiona Mackenzie-Spence

Author, Photographer

Fiona Mackenzie-Spence is a writer, artist, photographer, mother, grandmother and most certainly an adventurer. She has published four books, all available on Amazon, the latest of which, Rock Hopping Tales of A Single Granny, she will be discussing with us today and In particular the ideal retirement destination of Gozo, Malta.
In November, 2015 one of Fiona's Abstract oil paintings was accepted by and hung in The Royal West of England Academy's Open Exhibition, in Bristol, England. It was a huge accomplishment for a new artist who had only started painting two years before. Her work was exhibited alongside established and well-known artists and Fiona was ecstatic to see her work hanging with theirs.
In June, 2016 this adventurous Granny decided to emigrate to Malta and her book is about this journey and her four years of life on the tiny island of Gozo.
