Janice Deerwester is originally from Texas but she has also lived in Cameroon, California, Colorado, the state of Georgia, and she now lives in France. After living in Douala, Cameroon for three years, Janice earned a degree in education from California State University, Bakersfield. She was a teacher for 13 years in California, 1 year in Colorado, and 14 years in Georgia. She has also worked for the Alliance Against Family Violence in Bakersfield, California and a chaplain for two years in a hospital setting. She has been a widow since 2012.
